Daily review
I was very happy with the work i carried out today, at first it was all abit confusing with the diagram provided with all the measurements all over the place but once i just started focusing on a few measurements at a time i was able to complete what was required. we made paper rep's of what the metal tray will look like and all my measurements lined up great, for next time i just need to focus on a few measurements and i will be fine to complete the tast faster.
Day 2 review
Today we started up drawing out metal tray diagram onto the sheet metal, it played tricks on your eyes because none of the outer lines of the sheet were even. We then proceeded to cut it out with the gelatin and once we had cut the outer lines we used the tin snips to get the harder to reach bits . once we had finished that we moved onto bending everything into place to make the template into the tray. We used the senter punch for the guides for when we drilled the holes through the tin for the rivets to hold it all together. I was pretty happy with how everything work out today, and we got alot of work done in the time frame. The only thing that slowed down production was waiting for everyone else to bend their products
Day 3 review
Today we finished up on the tool tray, we made the handle, we used the lathe to trill and tap the holes, we had to add extra washes at the end of the handle because the tapper wasn't quite long enough for the tread of the bolt. I was happy with the work i carried out today and George was very good at explaining how the lathe worked and how to operate it.
